The Opportunity

As a Traveling Superintendent, you are the face of Farris Construction on-site. You will oversee national retail projects—ranging from large-scale commercial renovations to specialty ground-up builds—ensuring every detail meets our standards of excellence. You will manage the heartbeat of the project, from site setup and subcontractor scheduling to safety enforcement and final close-out.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the Site: Manage field offices, temporary services, and logistics from groundbreaking to project completion.
• Master the Schedule: Partner with Project Managers to develop and execute timelines without compromising quality.
• Coordinate Excellence: Schedule all employees, subcontractors, and deliveries to ensure zero downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Solve & Communicate: Act as the primary liaison between owners, architects, and subs to resolve conflicts and keep stakeholders informed.
• Safety First: Implement and enforce company safety policies, facilitating weekly on-site safety meetings.
• Precision Layout: Establish benchmarks and reference points to ensure total accuracy in all ongoing work.

What You Bring

• Experience: At least 5 years in commercial construction (Retail chain and large-format renovation experience highly preferred).
• Travel Readiness: A passion for national travel—this role goes where the projects are.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in computer technology; experience with PlanGrid is a major plus.
• Track Record: A history of meeting (and beating) deadlines while navigating local codes and inspection procedures.
